Antique Victorian 14k Gold Ring with Garnet Doublets and Seed Pearls

Antique Victorian 14k gold ring with scrolling openwork shoulders. The head of the ring is set with four garnet-glass doublets and three seed pearls. Doublets were a Victorian way of simulating gemstones that involved taking a small sliver of a natural gemstone and fusing it on a glass base.
